About CETeG
The mission of the Central European Tectonic Group (CETeG) is to strengthen the professional communication and the coordination of activities of formal groups and individuals from Central European countries interested in broadly scoped tectonics and geodynamics of the Earth crust. According to the assumed convention, scientific gatherings of CETeG are to be held annually in geologically attractive regions, each year in different member country.
The Central European Tectonic Group is an open scientific association bringing together the geoscientists with the interest in geodynamic processes of the Earth crust in a broad measure.
The main topics of the annual meetings are the problems of structural evolution of the orogenic belts, the basin evolution, relationship of magmatism and tectonics and many others, studied by the methods of structural geology, petrology, geochemistry, sedimentology and geophysics.
Invitation and Topics of the 2012 Meeting
A special attention in the CETeG 2012 meeting we paid to the neotectonics of the Carpathians and recent geodynamic activity of the Czech massif and accordingly we invited a couple of speakers that will start related sessions.
- Witold Zuchiewicz (Faculty of Geology, Geophysics & Environmental Protection, AGH University of Science & Technology, Cracow, Poland): Neotectonics of the Carpathians: Lessons learned from tectonic geomorphology.
- Josef Stemberk (Institute of Rock Structure and Mechanics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague): Character and dynamics of (micro)displacements registered by 3-D monitoring at faults in the Czech massif.
We will prefer contributions focused to geodynamic evolution of the Alpine-Carpathian-Dinaridic orogenic belt since its origin up to recent. Besides structural and tectonic studies we also support all scientific studies oriented to geochemistry, petrology, sedimentology as well as applied research (geophysical, geodetic, geomechanical, geothermal, engineering geological).
Of course the organizers are open to those of you who are engaged in research of other than Central European Orogens.

Leaders: D. Plašienka, R. Vojtko, J. Madzin
Contributions
Accepted papers and abstracts will be published in the regular issue of the journal Mineralia Slovaca 44/1/2012. Please check instructions for authors of abstracts of the CETeG meeting 2012. By writing contributions full-length paper please follow the instructions for authors at http://www.geology.sk/doc/min_slov/MS_info_en.pdf
Authors will submit their final contributions (abstracts/papers) up to deadlines indicated below as “doc” and “pdf” files to zoltan.nemeth@geology.sk and copy to lubomir.petro@geology.sk . Figures are accepted only in jpg format with the high resolution.
Presentations
Oral presentations will be limited to 12 plus 3 minutes for discussion. Computer presentations prepared in the PowerPoint are strongly recommended. Slide projector and overhead projector will be available only if you indicate this explicitly. The organizing committee reserves the right to select oral presentations and shift some presentations to the poster session. (Please, prepare presentations that have major impact on tectonic problems.)
Parallel oral and poster presentations are not acceptable.
Poster format will be A0 (~0.9 m x 1.2 m) and the number of poster presentations is not limited.
