Main topics of the 2015 Meeting
A special attention of the CETEG 2015 meeting will be dedicated to the geodynamic evolution of western part of the Bohemian Massif, however topics related to broad Variscan and Alpine-Carpathian-Dinaridic orogeny, theoretical aspects of structural geology, petrology and geochronology, as well as neotectonics and basin evolution are promoted as important subjects of the meeting. Several invited speakers provide hints to the main topics of the meeting although any other contributions related to the common CETEG topics are welcome.
- Prof. Karel Schulmann (Czech Geological Survey and Strasbourg University, France) - “Geodynamics of the European Variscan belt”
- Prof. Fritz Finger (University of Salzburg, Austria) - “The Saxo-Danubian plutonic belt: a late Variscan structure linking West Bohemia and South Bohemia”
- Prof. Michael S. Petronis (New Mexico Highlands University, USA) - "Complexity of feeding systems within monogenetic volcanoes: cases from New Mexico, Chaine des Puys and Bohemian Paradise"
- Dr. Ralf Schuster (Geological Survey of Austria) - "Geology of the Eastern Alps – summary and open questions"
- Dr. Michal Nemčok (University of Utah, USA) - "Contractional modification of the back-arc rift system; Eocene-Quaternary Black Sea case study"

Awards
Awards of the CETEG community promote active participation of outstanding students and young scientists at the CETEG annual meetings.
Radek Melka prize
The prize has been established by friends of Mr. Radek Melka to remember this outstanding young Czech scientist in structural geology who passed away at the age of 30 in 1994. The Radek Melka Prize in the amount of €800 will be awarded every second year to the best paper by an author from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, or Hungary of age up to 35 years in the year of publication of their paper. The Prize in 2015 will be awarded for a paper published in the past two years i.e. 2013 and 2014. The submitted paper has to deal with a topic in structural geology, tectonics, geodynamics, geochronology, rock geochemistry, metamorphic, igneous, or sedimentary geology. Condition for participation in the competition is the author's presence at the Central European Tectonic Studies Group Annual Meeting. Deadline: Authors will submit their papers for the competition as pdf to zdenek.venera@geology.cz, and cc: to lexa@natur.cuni.cz by 31st March 2015.
Referees: 7 referees will be nominated by the Board of the Czech Tectonic Studies Group and the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Science to select the best paper considering its significance of scientific contribution, originality of approach, and author's share in the published work. The winner will be announced at the 13th CETEG Meeting during the conference dinner. Colleagues are asked to distribute this information among young scientists, who can apply for the prize with a published paper, in which the applicant is the first author. The prize is sponsored by the Czech Tectonic Studies Group and Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Science.
Best student oral presentation
The prize for best oral presentation of a student in the amount of €200 will be awarded by the Czech Tectonic Studies Group.
Best student poster presentation
The prize for best poster presentation of a student in the amount of €200 will be awarded by the Czech Tectonic Studies Group.
